Purpose and Philosophy

North Georgia College and State University embraces the philosophy that living in a campus residence hall is an important part of a university experience. The learning that occurs through experiences in decision-making, critical thinking, and taking responsibility within the residence halls will be invaluable throughout one's life.

Are You Required to Live on Campus?

            Residency Policy

Any student who has completed less than 60 semester hours, has lived on campus less than 4 semesters, and is under the age of 21 must reside in a University residence hall if they are attempting 12 or more credit hours. Exceptions are made for students who reside with their spouse, parents or grandparents within 50 miles of Dahlonega.

Housing and Meal Plans for 2012/2013

North Georgia houses women on campus in Lewis Hall, Lewis Annex, Donovan Hall, North Georgia Suites, and Owen Hall. Male students reside in Lewis Annex, Donovan Hall, North Georgia Suites, and Owen Hall. All traditional hall residents and suite-style residents are required to purchase a meal plan and are originally assigned the most economical plan, Unlimited Access Plan, which provides unlimited dining at any time when Dining Hall is open. Students living in apartments are not required to purchase a meal plan.
