Share |

John Allison, retired chairman and chief executive officer of BB&T Corp., is the second of five business leaders to participate in the 2011 speaker series hosted by North Georgia College & State University and The Mike Cottrell School of Business.

On Thursday, Sept. 22, Allison will discuss "Ethical Leadership," sharing his insights into becoming a powerful and meaningful leader while pursuing your personal happiness, from 12:45-1:45 p.m. in the auditorium of the Health and Natural Sciences building at 159 Sunset Drive. The speaker series has been moved to the auditorium due to the record-breaking turnout for the first speaker.

BB&T is the 10th largest financial services holding company headquartered in the U.S. and, during Allison's tenure as chief executive officer, BB&T grew from $4.5 billion to $152 billion in assets. He has received many awards including recognition by the Harvard Business Review as one of the top 100 most successful chief executives in the world over the last decade. In March 2009, he joined the faculty of Wake Forest University Schools of Business.

The session is free and open to the public. For more information about the Cottrell Speaker Series, please contact Dr. Max Burns, Dean of The Mike Cottrell School of Business, at 706-864-1610 or at mburns@northgeorgia.edu.
