Cadet Admissions

A unit of Enrollment Management

Share |

You can be a high school student, live on campus, and fully participate in the Corps of Cadets as a high school senior.  This is our "Dual Enrollment Program".  While attending North Georgia, you can take your final unit of English, math and social science required to graduate high school: you will receive dual credit in both high school and college if you earn a grade of C or better.  Since you must be a full time student to be a Cadet, you must take at least 12 credit hours of college courses while you are dual enrolled. Therefore, you may take other college courses in addition to the courses for which you will receive dual credit.  You should coordinate your college course schedule with your high school guidance counselor to ensure that you will meet your high school graduation requirements.

To participate in this program, you must:

  •  Have completed the following college-preparatory courses (CPC) during your first three years of high school:
English 3 units (grammar, literature, advanced composition)

Math 3 units (algebra I and II, and geometry - note that financial algebra, decision making, consumer math or business math cannot be counted)

Science 4 units (at least one lab course from the life sciences and one from the physical sciences:  biology, physical science, physics, and one in chemistry, earth systems, or environmental science)

Social Science 2 units (must include a unit focusing on US studies and a unit focusing on world studies)

Foreign Language   2 units of the same foreign language (2 units of American sign language is allowed)

  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a 4.0 scale or better in your CPC courses (see above).
  • Have minimum SAT scores of 530 critical reading and 530 math with a total of at least 1100, or ACT scores of 23 English and 23 math with a composite score of at least 24.
  • Be 17 years old when you enroll at North Georgia.

To apply for the dual enrollment program:
